DYSLEXIA SCREENER
£145

A dyslexia screener is offered to enable a decision to be made as to whether to administer a full diagnostic assessment. This may prove helpful if you are unsure as to whether a full assessment is required. The screener is not a quick online assessment such as the type sometimes administered in schools and colleges, which can be unreliable and provide little information. A screener can also be administered as a means of gathering information about cognitive strengths and difficulties. Subsequent reports include recommendations for education and home.

Cost based on a 2-3 hour assessment and time for subsequent report-writing.

FULL ASSESSMENT
£445

A comprehensive dyslexia assessment comprises a number of different assessments which together provide an accurate picture of an individual’s strengths and difficulties, as well a diagnosis of dyslexia if present.

A full assessment can be administered in one sitting or can be split between sittings, with each sitting being, ideally, a minimum number of days apart. This latter arrangement is sometimes preferable with a younger child of primary school age.

Cost is based on a 5 hour assessment. The report is usually delivered up within 4 weeks. Background information requires parental input and information from the educational establishment attended.

ADULT / WORKPLACE ASSESSMENTS
£475

Sometimes adults have long suspected that they have a specific learning difficulty such as dyslexia and seek confirmation by undergoing a full diagnostic assessment.

Assessment report recommendations can be provided, whether dyslexia is found to be present or otherwise in order to assist employers in making reasonable adjustments in the workplace. Reports which diagnose dyslexia can be submitted as evidence for applications for Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA).

SPECIALIST SENCo & SCHOOLS SUPPORT
£45P/H

Specialist Help in Education can assist SENDCos and learning support teams and individuals in supporting students.  Advice and consultation based on many years of Inclusion leadership can be provided to help your schools find suitable solutions to your students’ special educational needs.

EXAM ACCESS ARRANGEMENTS & FORM 8 COMPLETION
£45P/H

For pupils and students due to sit external examinations, Specialist Help in Education can administer assessments which will determine eligibility for extra time, readers, scribes and other types of EAA. It is important that eligibility is determined early so that learners can become accustomed to their arrangement(s). For primary school pupils, the beginning of year 6 is an ideal time to assess in preparation for SATs. For secondary students, EAA assessments can be administered from the summer term of year 9 to establish normal way of working for GCSE exams.

Form 8 completion is offered as an optional addition to Exam Access Arrangement assessment. Cost based on an hourly rate. Please enquire with your requirements for a bespoke quote. Discounts are offered for multiple EAA assessments booked together.
